6th ANNUAL HANALEI BAY OPEN WATER SWIM
Aloha to all--swimmers and volunteers.
First of all, Happy New Year to you. I am contacting you as we start getting our Namolokama Canoe Club busy focusing on 2012 and our fund raising and community events. Below is the update for the Hanalei Open Water Swim for 2012--a North Shore Community Event. --- 2011 Final Report

DATE: SATURDAY, JULY 28th---at Hanalei Pier (6TH Annual HANALEI OPEN WATER SWIM)
FORMAT: WILL BE THE SAME AS LAST YEAR with two youth groups --(8 and under, 9-12) to start first at 9 am. Following that will be our 1/2 mile, 1 mile and 2 mile
long distance swims along the curve of the bay (buoys in place)
AGES: Many age groups--split into every 10 years starting at 20 and on to the 70+

We had 160 swimmers last year, and we hope to expand to 200. If you know of anyone who is considering doing this event, please promote that goal for each and every one of them, whether as a keiki or an adult. For those of you who did participate, the energy and pats on the back were happening everywhere.
