WHAT'S NEW?

• The photos from the June 27 Tai Hook Regatta are now up in the photo gallery

2009 Ocean Swim Registration is now open and the registration form is here. It is two pages, so be sure to fill out both.

• We are requesting a donation of $10,00 to help with the fuel costs for the escort boat at practices and regattas this year. Please bring your donation to practice and give them to Barbara or Dick Smith. Mahalo to all who have already donated.

• There are still t-shirts available from the 2007 and 2008 Namolokama Ocean Swim. They are only $5.00 each and the entire amount is a donation to the club. See Barbara Smith at practices.

Welcome 2009

Our club was founded with the vision to promote and teach the ancient and continuing art of outrigger canoe paddling. Named after the central mountain backdrop and waterfall of Hanalei valley, the name means “like tightly braided hair” which is the essence of what our club is about. We are pulled together by the spirit of the canoe. A canoe is blind to color and race, it teaches us to be the same, to blend together, pull together. No prejudice… everyone gets a seat, a paddle and we all pull at the same time.

Paddling practice:

Women's practice - Mondays and Wednesdays at 5:00 p.m.

Men's practice - Tuesdays and Thursdays at 5:00 p.m.

Youth Program - Mondays and Wednesdays at 3:00 p.m.
